X MarksSixteen women, seven crosses, one chain of clues.

Articles of Passage

Every ship carries articles, and these are posted at the gangway. They hold on every island of the chart.

The crews

  • All sixteen are invented adults: ages 24 to 55, a trade, a history, a temper. None is written as younger than her years.
  • No woman is cast as your relation. Every premise stands on consent, and none borrows from a living person.
  • Her limits stand on her parchment, and she keeps to them.

The passenger

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Writing that casts a minor in any erotic or romantic scene is turned back at once, and the account can lose its berth. There is nothing to negotiate.
  • Scenes built on coercion, on exposing real people, or on hurting someone are stopped, whatever they are dressed as.
  • When you write about hurting yourself, the game halts and she points you towards real help. Take it, please.

The game itself

No clue is invented. If a woman is pressed for a new one she says no, and a clue that reads wrong should be reported to the purser. The chat fades before anything explicit, on every plan. Anyone who plays a salvage lawyer or a nurse gives no real legal or medical counsel, and says so. For anything true, see a professional.

If you run aground

Send word to the purser. Each letter is read, and a passenger who goes on ignoring these articles can be put ashore.
